Through the “Virtual Gaming Initiative” we actively seek a major position for Timor-Leste among gaming jurisdictions in the international gaming industry and we aim to create a global platform in Dili that brings together leading operators and service providers from across the globe in order to generate economic growth, jobs and investment opportunities for the Timorese society.


The Objectives


The initiative focuses on three main areas including regulating, implementing and enforcing virtual gaming policies with a high level of credibility, fairness and transparency.


Who is VGA


The Virtual Gaming Association (VGA) is an independent administrative body that consists of an extensive partnership network aiming to promote and initiate the virtual gaming industry in Timor-Leste.

The Virtual Gaming Association is established to work on best practices in licensing, compliance and regulation for the Timor-Leste virtual gaming sector.

The VGA is currently working on licensing and regulation in line with the democratic approach prevalent in East Timor.

The VGA is working to ensure that licences can be issued by Q3.

The VGA has established the following pillars for licensing:
 
- B2C licensing
- B2B licensing
- Licensing for white-label providers
- All product verticals will be allowed
- The licence application process will be managed via an electronic portal
- No local servers but local data replication will be required
